Auto Insurance Claims: attorney / client automobile claim, attorney, accident injury
QuestionMy question is into regards of my auto accident in which I obtained a attorney.(at least I think)I hired this small firm for a negligent driver causing serious bodily harm to my person.Ive completed all phases of PT and variety of test for headaches(concussion).Problem is I never met with a attorney it was a paper/phone communicaion with the manager. They ask for the regular contingency fee and I have not seen anybody phsyicaly.IS this normal practice nowadays?? PS going for limits.
AnswerThat is not normal practice. It is indicative of a boilerplate style of litigation. How can your attorney represent you if they do not even know what you look like? A jury will see you, and as unfortunate as it may seem, looks matter. If your case is strong enough, then it may not warrant an in-depth consultation with an attorney, but if your case is strong enough, you likely don't need an attorney. Don't be afraid to put your attorney on the spot and ask them directly why they haven't met with you. If there is not a good reason, then you will then know. If there is a good reason, then at least your attorney is a smooth talker.
