QuestionMy car was broken in at the gym. Do I have to pay my (1000) dedectuble, will my rates increase?
AnswerHello Mahamed,
If your deductible for comprehensive is $1,000.00, yes.
Comp (theft and fire) is usually not very expensive, but it depends on where you are located. I know the East Coast is expensive for comp.
In the nothwood of Wisconsin, the difference between a $1,000 dd and a $25 dd is only a couple of bucks a month.
As for your rates increasing, depends on the company.
Insurance should be used for catstphic claims. If you have the $1000 dd, maybe you can repair for half.
These days insurance companies are hard to determine what they will do. I have seen 2 theft claims to a person the same year got him cancelled.
