Auto Insurance Claims: Stolen vehicle, insurance contract, stolen vehicle
QuestionHi my car was stolen and recovered over 3 weeks later. It was discovered after the "reasonable" waiting period of 21 days that my insurance states. I was under the impression that if it was found after this point they would settle with me regardless of the damages. I have been told it is repairable and will not be valued a total loss. Do I have any options besides just taking it back? And if I do take it back, do I have to take their estimate of damages when they clearly missed much of the damage done?
AnswerHi Heather-
Ask your insurance company what the dispute process is if you want to dispute the damages.
If they deem that it's repairable then I don't know of any way you can dispute that- it's part of the insurance contract.
