Auto Insurance Claims: car hit in parking lot, police report, insurance companies

if I submit a claim for a hit and run in a shopping mall parking lot will our rates go up. It's between 2000-3000 $ worth of damage?

Hi Maureen,

Unless there is a police report or witnesses most insurance companies will consider this a chargable event. Because with out proof that someone else hit your car you may have backed into something or ran into something. It's not right but its the way it is.
