Questionwhere is the orifice tube located in a 1997 gmc yukon and how do you replace it
AnswerHello Amanda
We are a uk company and have no specialised knowledge of your vehicle, so, with a torch starting from the compressor, trace the thinnest pipe toward the front of the vehicle
It will enter the condenser somewhere. Find where it leaves the condenser and follow that line towards the back of the engine
Somewhere in that line you may see a thickening of that pipe.
There may also be a union, maybe a spring clip or two nuts joined by a thread close to it.
Wherever the pipe thickens will be your orifice tube.
Any sign of crimping on that piece of pipe, means that the tube will not come out.
Ensure the system is properly discharged before the pipe is split, wear goggles and refrigerant proof gloves
Once the pipe is split you will see the end of the orifice tube down one of them, long nose pliers will tug it out
Hope this helps
