Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: GREAT A/C one day, Next day, none... BUT, system diagnosis, dodge intrepid

Question
Previous symptoms were on long drives that "vapor" would come through the vents.  No scent at all, and I would just shut down the A/C for about ten minutes and the vapor would stop.

Where did the "vapor" come from?  i always just though condensation....    But now my A/C STOPPED working.  

Please help.  I'm a woman and mechanics around here just want to take advantage of me.   

I have a 1994 Dodge Intrepid and it only has about 79000 miles.

HI THERESA,I HAD A `95 INTREPID AND HAD THE EVAPORATOR CORE REPLACED 3X UNDER WARRANTY. MIST AND VAPOR IS THE BEGINING OF A LEAKING SYSTEM.IT IS THE WEAKESS SECTION OF DODGE AND CHRYS A/C UNITS.HAVE THE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS BY A A/C SHOP FIRST. THE JOB COST ABOUT $1200.00 IF THE EVAP IS LEAKING.
