Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: compressor turns the wrong direction, v belts, serpentine belt

I have a 1980 corvette.Is there such a thing as the compressor turning the wrong direction. If so what would cause this to happen? Thank You.

Did you just replace the A/C compressor on the vehicle ?.
You may have the wrong compressor for your make and tear vehicle.

Does the vehicle have one serpentine belt  that drives everything or does it have the old style "V" belts ?.

What makes you think it is running backwards ?
