Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: installing air conditioner, labor expenses, toyota pickup

i have a 91 toyota pickup that has no air conditioning. I live in Arizona so i'm dying without it. Is this something that i can install myself on a reasonable budget, or am i better off just selling the truck. I'd hate to have to do that but every quote i have gotten for getting it installed is nearly as much as the truck is worth.

To be perfectly honest and it was my vehicle, I would NOT go thru thr major parts and labor expenses of adding an A/C system to it.

I have done these types of conversions in the past but it is just way to expensive for a 1991 vehicle.
