I'm sorry for the lack of detail in my question. The car involved is a 1992 Toyota Camry. It is a 3.0 L, six cylinder and has about 130K miles on it. The car has been relatively free of problems and in the last 5 years has had only a front axle, the radiator and the water pump replaced (all had gone bad and were not replaced specifically to address the heating issue. I change oil regularly and it doesn't burn any.
Thanks for your help....Paul
Hello,
My car heater works very sporadically. When the engine is running above ~ 1500 RPM, the heater blows warmer air, but below that, it gets cool.
Also, the water temp heats up (as shown on the temp gauge) when it climbs a steep hill.
The thermostat and water pump have been changed, but it hasn't helped.
Any ideas what else may be the culprit ?
Thank you for your help.....

I am NOT trying to be RUDE and or disrespectful, BUT at least I know you have a car.
YEAR-MAKE-MODEL-ENGINE SIZE-MILEAGE-PAST REPAIR HISTORY are all I have to GUESS at.

AnswerDid you install a NEW RADIATOR or did you just have your old one cleaned and flushed or did you install a USED one ?.
Without actually having access to the vehicle you have these most common possibilities:
1. A restricted and or internally collapsing radiator of which is WHY you ALWAYS buy a NEW ONE.
2. A faulty radiator fan.
3. A head gasket(s) leak in the engine.
