Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 1993 chevy suburban a/c compresser inadvertantly runnin, chevy suburban, atmospheric air

The compresser was replaced 1.5 yrs ago and converted to "134". the pressure was low and we added refridgererant to 38-40 lbs on the low side. The compressor will run but only in little short burst. On - off... On - off. What do I need to do?

Answer
You have a number of possibilities:

1. Low freon.
2. Excessive refrigerant oil in the A/C system.
3. Atmospheric air in the system.
4. A faulty low pressure cycling switch.
