Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Condenser hole, bullet from a gun, mile warranty

I feel really stupid!  I meant to say the condenser, not the compressor. Please let me know what you think of this and thank you very much for the quick answer.  We are to pick up the car today.  Kate

Question -
I have a 2002 Honda Accord Coup.  How easy would it be to put a hole in the compressor from something flying off of the road?  We have an extended 100,000 mile warranty which Honda says doesn't cover this due to outside damage.  With a new compressor, dryer and refrigerant the bill comes to $600. Is this fair.  Thank you.  Kate

In close to 25 years I have never seen this happen. It would take a high velosity projectile such as a bullet from a gun to put a hole in an A/C compressor.

A hole in the CONDENSOR is very likely to be caused by a rock from a vehicles tire being thrown into it.

However, This is what is called ROAD HAZARD DAMAGE and is NOT covered under ANY warranty program that I have ever seen.
