Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Altima Engine Starter Disabled, nissan altima gle, nissan altima

My nissan altima gle (1996) refuses to start. When I try to start it, the dashboard light come on and I hear the kit kit kit sound (probably) the spark plug. But engine does nto start.

I do know there is a security system in place which disables the engine if you do not open the car with the remote etc. This time round, I am unable to figure out whats gone wrong.

Do the head lights work ?.

How OLD is the battery ?. If it's over 6 years old, Replace it. I replace mine every 5 years.

Is the vehicles charging system operating correctly ?.
