Mr. Kakuk:

Recently my automobile was in a car accident and my insurance company said that they have collision repair facilities that would fix all of the damage with a lifetime guarantee but a friend of mine told me that I should only use the dealer's auto body shop (I have a 1999 Acura RL) because they use original parts and do a better job. What do you think as to where I should have my car repaired at from being in an accident?

MURPHY.....THE DEALER BODY SHOP WILL ONLY USE FACTORY PARTS IF THE INSURANCE COMPANY INDICATED SO
ON THE ESTIMATE.
THE DIRECT REPAIR SHOPS NORMALLY DO A GOOD JOB.
I WOULD GO VISIT A FEW AND ASK TO SEE WHAT THEY HAVE READY TO DELIVER THAT DAY AND JUDGE THE QUALITY OF WHAT YOU SEE FOR YOURSELF.
