QuestionRecently purchased 2001 F250. Truck is in great shape except significant rust on underbody. Looked closely for structural damage and found none. However, I am concerned that rust will continue to deteriorate the frame and suspension. Heard that Ziebart or similar businesses can apply treatments that "seal" existing rust for about $300-$400. Is this something that should be done?
AnswerYes and Not necessarily Phil. If you live on the east coast/Canada, or places where there is a
significant amount of road salt used, I would say yes indeed.Other than that It 's really not
a must in MY opinion. Your f-250 frame and suspension is without a doubt, the strongest, best
built , and most resilient chassis on the road today even without the Ziebart.
Hey, You could do it yourself. NAPA/PEP-BOYS/AUTO ZONE #3M ONLY Rubberized HD Undercoating.
You would need about 6 cans for two even applications.
Hope this helps, Bill
