QuestionWith a front right bumper collision on mu 2007 Mazada 3, my estimate refers to replacing the impact bar. Is the impact bar and bumper reinforcement, one of the same?? Also, it wise to repair the bumper reinforcement (hammer out) or should it be replaced???
Thanks for information, it is much appreciated.
AnswerJosie, a reinforcement is generally made of metal to add strength to the chassis and add support for the bumper.if small damage it can be straightened with hammer and dollie. if bent or kinked it MUST be replaced . impact bar/impact absorber is made of soft stuff:foam, plastic honeycomb plastic,. . .
