Auto body repair & detailing: repainting basecoat after clearcoating, orange peal, definitly

Question
I sprayed a cavalier hood after prepping but ran low on color. The color looked close off the car but when I put it on its definitly lighter. Since I already cleared can I just scuff and rebase or what? The 1st base actually had some light orange peal also. Will the new paint cover this problem also? Thanks

Sand the hood with 1000 wet to plain down the orange peel blend the fenders to avoid the mis-matching color0 only color the tops of the fenders intentionally, let the base overspray down the sides without actually trying to color them, then clear the enitre fenders and hood. Bill
