Auto body repair & detailing: paint, acrylic enamel, activator

can you please explane to me ,,base coat clear coat ,,do i need a hardener for these,,    and if i was spraying acylic enamal paint ,do i need a hardener

base coat seldom needs hardener, it just needs reduced. Clear coat always needs hardener, it's sometimes called activator, but it's still a hardener. Acrylic enamel needs hardener if you want it to have optimal shine, durability, and longevity, so I am going to say yes, enamel needs hardener. Bill
