You can run a sponge over the paint.  You'll need a polisher--DON"T USE A WOOL BONNET.  Go to a auto body store, ask for a sponge you can attach to a polisher--you'll need to buy a Velcro adapter that the sponge velcros to.  You'll need a product to put on the sponge to shine the car...the product in the 3M line is called finesse--you don't want to use a compound and a wool pad.
