Auto body repair & detailing: Paint fading, rubbing compound, vette

Hello.

I have a '87 vette and in some spots the paint is fading and has a whiteish look to it. All of the other areas are still nice and bright. Can I just repair this faded area? If so, how?

Sounds like your paint is about to start peeling which would require a repaint. You may be able to buff areas and make them better for a while. Use a 3M heavy duty rubbing compound and machine buffer.
