Questionon my acura integra, the hinge of my door got bent in. So now my door is difficult to open and close. Can't hammer it out from the inside. Basically i want to use a grinder to cut the metal on two sides or so that I can bend the metal back out.
After I get the metal where its supposed to be, how do i weld my 2 cuts back? how would i weld the metal so that it would be strong again to hold the hinge?
basically how do i do simple welds to just hold sheet metal together. I don't expect my welds to look pretty, but i just want metal to bond to metal.
What are the cheapest tools I need and basic methods to do a few beginner simple welds? Every article I read makes it sound like rocket science.
I have welding sticks that someone at work gave me. they look like sparklers for 4th July. Now how do i melt these sticks on to the metal? a blow torch or does it have to be a specific welding flame?
Thank you
AnswerGrind the area that needs to be welded to bare metal and use a wire feed welder and grind a area for the ground to attach and weld away. The rods you have are for a ark welder you could use them but you need a ark welder.
Thank you for the question!
