Auto body repair & detailing: sun on vehicle, fiberglass hoods, astro van
QuestionHello
My van Astro van has no other place now but park under the strong Arizona sun.
1 would it hurt much the hoses ? how? how often should I replace/check them or maintain them - if possible?
2 any idea to protect it?
3 there is a tree I can park it under ( a little far) but then there is that tree glue that ends up on top of the van - any ideas, please ?
Thank you, Gabe
AnswerGMC Has come a long way in protecting things like plastic sensers and hoses. On some vans they now have fiberglass hoods. Also a hood blanket attached with plastic buttons under the hood. It should keep it cool.I check my belts and hoses every oil change. Any noticable swelling or softness in a hose it might be time to change it. Your vehicle operates at a running temp. of 210 F. you should have no prob. All you need is regular maintenance.
Hope this helps.
