Auto body repair & detailing: My 88 Stang, mike gallagher, paint world

  I'm 19 and a first timer learning to do my own Body work. My 88 stang has a few minor hail dents in the roof and one "hole" where the paint has totally cracked away from the door. My question is how would I go about starting to fix these small problems? Should I use a Fiberglass filler or what? I guess I am just looking for a starting point.
