Auto body repair & detailing: Nissan 350z Rims, nissan 350z, mike gallagher

Hi, I have a 2003 Nissan 350Z.  I recently had the tires rotated.  Shortly after,  I noticed several scratches that scored the rims from the lug nut remover. I have been going back and forth with the merchant and he keeps saying that it's normal and there is no way to avoid this.  I asked nissan and they disagree.  Is this typical?

Hard to say for sure without seeing. It would seem the damage was done when the lug nuts were removed. No it's not normal for damage to be done.
