Auto Glass: 2003 Mustang power window not working - driver side, mustang power, ford dealer
QuestionThe window does not go up or down, and there is a clicking sound when I press it.
Is it the motor since they do not have a separate a fuse for the window, and how much would replacing a motor for the window cost?
Thanks
Nick
AnswerHello Nick,
The clicking sound that you hear when you press the window switch is a relay located under the dash. It is possible that you have a bad switch or broken wire, but it is most likely that you have a bad window motor.
The cost to replace the motor will vary depending on who makes the repair and how familiar they are with the job. My guess is that a Ford dealer could charge as much as $330. A good mechanic using a Ford motor could be as much as $200. A specialist like me using a good quality aftermarket motor would be in the $150 range.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
