QuestionI just bought a 2005 Ford F-150 SuperCrew that came with a completely undocumented Code Alarm CA-630 in it. The functions of door unlock, remote start, and find/panic mode work properly. When pressing the lock/arm button, the system responds with one flash of the vehicle lights, the doors do not lock. Pressing the lock/arm button again immediately results in one beep of the horn and the same single flash of the vehicle lights. In both instances, the courtesy lights do stay on for a minute and then shut off. The red LED in the dash does not go "solid" as if in pre-arm mode under any circumstances, shows 1 per second flash rate with the vehicle not running. Vehicle does not auto-arm, nor do the door locks secure. The alarm does not trigger at all unless I use the find/panic mode button. If I use the remote start function, the doors do lock and the vehicle starts.
I do not see a hood pin for signalling open hood, and there is not an underhood light. I have not yet found the "emergency switch", I will probably have to dismantle the dash to trace wires in order to find if/where it exists.
What steps should I take in troubleshooting this arm/lock failure?
AnswerCheck for the valet override switch built into the antenna that
was placed on the windsheild and go into and out of override a couple of times
so you understand it.
And oh, BTW, GOOGLE is a wonderful resource.
