Car Alarms: car alarm issues, jonathan martin, car alarm

i have a 2002 f250. i had no clue it had an alarm. i removed the batteries to replace my starter and went to open the door and the alarm goes off. i dont have a remote entry all i have is the key. i know nothing about alarms and am really in need since it is my daily driver. thank you in advance.
