Car Alarms: disarm aftermarket alarm on mazda, 2002 mazda protege5, mazda protege5

Question
i have a 2002 mazda protege5 with what appears to be an aftermarket alarm system. I just replaced the battery, but now the car will not start. the alarm system goes off of course. i removed the accessory fuse to the horn to not piss off my neighbors. how do i reset this system to start the car? Everything else is good both engine and electrically on the vehicle.
