QuestionMy 2006 Camry alarm recently started going off randomly while parked. This has been going on for about 4 days now and the only way to make it stop is to either turn the key in the door each time or to disarm the battery. I took it to Toyota and they stated there is no way to disarm the alarm. However, I just saw a post that another person put their car alarm in to valet mode. I would like to do this until I can afford to pay the 500.00 they insist it will cost to figure out what is wrong with my car. How can I put my 2006 Camry in to valet mode so the alarm will quit going off?
AnswerPlease be more descriptive if possible.
"GOING OFF?"
I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.
Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET
Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.
