Car Alarms: car alarm, theft investigation, sensitive material

I owen A 98 E250 that has a ir-s cod alarm pp- T22 that I did not even know was on the van, it has never gone off in the 5 years I have owend the van. The battery died and I changed it. When I tried to start it the alarm went off and the van will not turn over. I found the system under the driver side dash. how do I stop the alarm and get my vad started!!!?
