Car Alarms: Car alarm, 12 volt, wire connections

I have a 1994 honda accord it has a n aftermarket alarm (hellfire), My car turns on sometimes. I bought a new alarm which is just basic, I took off the first alarm and used the same wire connections. the car does not turn on, it turns over, can please help me. Thanks.
