Questionsomewhere along the lines of my travels, my key fob for my 1997 Mustang GT fell off of my keyring. i unlocked my car with my key this morning and my alarm went off, i had no way to disable it, so i let it sit for a few minutes and it shut off. while the alarm was initiated, i tried to maybe turn the key and noticed that the car would not start, nor the alarm would turn off. I am wondering if this may be an After-market system or if it the actual ford system so I can try to get another key fob so i can use my car again, or will i be able to wait for my alarm to turn off every time i want to start my car, if it will start in it's "theft mode".
AnswerPlease be more descriptive if possible.
"GOING OFF?"
I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.
Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET
Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.
