Car Alarms: remote car starter and chevy blazer, chevy blazer, remote car starter

i just had a python remote starter placed on my husbands 2003 chevy blazer for his birthday. When I picked up the vehicle I was told that the blazer doesnt have a powerful enough fuel pump and I will have to push the start button a few times before it catches, also the "security" light is now on.  Is this a bunch of malarkey?   Thank you!
