Car Alarms: Alarm problem, clifford alarm, acura integra

Hi, i recently purchased a 1997 acura integra and it came with a aftermarket clifford alarm however the car horn and alarm dont seem to work, the switch in the dash turns the alarm light on and off but the actualy alarm doesnt arm or do anythin when i press the keypad, also the blinking alarm light behind my rearview mirror goes on and off...the old owner said this all happened after the transmission was changed? any thoughts ? let me know thanks
