Car Alarms: Toyota Land Cruiser alarm, toyota land cruiser, alarmtek

Question
When I push the unlock button on my 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser keyless remote to unlock the door--and it unlocks---as soon as I open any door on the car the alarm goes off.  I have read several postings on the internet with this problem and some relation to a replacement keyless remote--which I have--and a replacment car battery----which I have.  Any suggestions as to how to remedy this problem?

"GOES OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.
