QuestionHi, I have that kind of alarm system in my suzuki Jimny I just bought. Ex-owner said she hasn't used alarm/or even peressed the other of two buttons ever. So there is bigger button which lock/open the doors and other one, smaller button which I don't know exactly what it does.
But so, when I drove back home and locked the doors from remote control's locking button, the alarm acts like this:
After about 40seconds, the alarm goes ON and starts to yel.
I know, it shouldn't do this, because all I do is that I just lock the doors.
I leave my doors open at the time, because if I lock them, the alarm goes on after a while. I've tried to push the little button ("panic button?") but I havent notest that it would help.
Should I just remove the alarm?
Thanks for answers
AnswerHmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:
PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.
KEY OFF.
This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.
If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.
I hope this solved it for you.
If not. look forward to removal/replacement
or repair.
