Car Alarms: alarm resetting, remote transmitters, alarmtek

Question
My battery(car)went dead and after installing a new one my remote key pads for my alarm dont work anymore to open/close the doors or activate the alarm.  I changed the batteries in the pads but now i hear i need to reset the alarm--can/how can i do this??
