QuestionHi. My daughter has a '04 Saab 93 4.0T, 4-door sedan. I wanted to give an installed remote starter for her birthday (We live in "snow country".). None of the car audio/security places around here will touch a Saab, not even the dealer, except for one. He wants $600-$700. I found an EZ Start EZ-4593, new in box, online for a very reasonable price. I'm quite proficient in most mechanical/electrical systems and am confident that I could install it if it doesn't require a EE/CE degree and a Black Belt in Voodoo Mechanics. I have never installed, or even used, a remote starter, and I have never heard of EZ Start. Any feedback on installation/company reputation would be appreciated.
Thanks very much.
AnswerAs Tony Saprano would say "fugedaboudit!"
I have no good things to say about attempting to
remote start a SAAB either. No bypass kit is
offered for the transponder in the ignition of
an 04' Saab. This make this project moot.
To way to bypass the immobilizer= no remote start.
Even Saab can't add one to that car!
Nope, sorry. This one is a
no win situation.
I'd say pass unless you want to experiment
with the car.
