my son just picked up a 1997 golf to make it a race car could you please tell me how to disable the factory alarm system. thank you. steve

Answer
You will need an after market keyless entry as
the locks control the alarm disarm and rm function.
To disarm, a 1 pulse to the door unlock wire
also disables/disarms the factory system automatically.
It is the only way short of getting the factory
transmitter that I am aware of, to disarm it.
