Car Alarms: conlog fob replacement, vw polo, immobiliser

Question
I have a conlog immobiliser on a 2001 vw polo that needs a replacement remote fob.
I have been told that this company has gone out of business and it is not possible to buy these now. Do you know of anywhere that might still sell them?

If not, I guess I will need to remove the system. Is this difficult?
The fob also operates the central locking for the doors.
Is it possible to purchase another alarm system that does the same thing and is this expensive, what would it cost?
