QuestionHello,
I have a 1990 Nissan 300ZX 2+2 that has been acting goofy. The OEM car alarm will sometimes randomly go off (lights flash and horn sounds). I have to turn the key in the door to disarm it. My question(s) are:
Is there an explanation for this?, easy fix?, etc?
Should I Permanently disarm the OEM alarm system (by grounding the red/gray alarm wire), since I have an aftermarket alarm system already?
Thank for your help, it is much appreciated,
-Zach
AnswerAll things being equal, there is something worn or broken causing
it, and it is probably in the door tiggers.
A bad one or rusting sensor triggering the OEM system perhaps?
Inspect all doors for faulty trigger pin switch.
Good hunting.
