Car Alarms: 1994 Lincoln Cont., oem installation, vantage point

Question
I am having a problem with the car intermittently not starting.  I've narrowed it to the Anti-Theft APM The cartridge became defective and my father had it remove and a toggle switch has been put in its place.  It only happens occasionally and I have to do a series of battery disconnects, and other gyrations to get it to work.  The toggle does not seem to do much.  How may I remove or disable this "feature".

It's been jury rigged now, so it's going
to be tough sorting out the issue
from my vantage point.

I suggest getting the car's
OEM installation points and repair all
after market wiring that has been
attached for best results, and a guide
to tell you what wire does what under
the dash. Helpful.
