Car Alarms: Clifford G5 arrow Intellistart 4 problem, clifford g5, designtech

I just purchased a new remote for the alarm and finished programming it. Problem is both backlights stay lit even when the car is on and when the car is off and it drains my car battery!! Remote has 3 buttons by the way.
