Car Alarms: Kia Rio5 2M security package, steering colum, alarmtek

My daughter just bought a Kia Rio5 it has a swipe thing under her steering colum to unlock her ignition.  The car only came with one pad, and we do not have a Kia dealership in the area.  The swipe pad is on her key ring and says, 2M security package.  I am concerned that she will loose it.  Can it be uninstalled and or would we have to go to a Kia dealership to get another swipe pad thing.

At this point, remove it and install one you have the
fobs for, and understand what it does.
Nakes for a safe, more secure experience.

You could leave it, but if she gets stuck....!

I'd take it to a local shop that does stereo/car alarms
etc... and have them remove the old system and install
something she can control and depend on.
