Car Alarms: Car Alarm Remote Problems, designtech, kidwell

I have an 02 F150 and I am having issues with my auto start/alarm remote.  The battery died in the remote and I didn’t replace it until three days later.  Since I have replaced the battery the remote does not communicate with the auto start/alarm anymore.  There have been no changes on the vehicle side.  Is there a reset I can do or something?  I don’t recall what brand the auto start/alarm is but the remote was replaced with a Clifford remote years ago and works just the same.
