Car Alarms: 97 toyota 4 runner, flip switch, toyota 4 runner

I purchased this truck a year ago that has this alarm.... recently it is acting up.  Now it won't start.  Something is setting off the alarm.. possibly me hitting the remote and setting it off.  I tried turning the key to on, then pushing the valet button I found in the glove box.  It reset where the power came back on.. but then I when to start it and it shut the power off again.. what do I do?

Hmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

KEY ON JUST BEFORE CRANKING ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.
KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.
