Car Alarms: Viper 850XV, honda civic si, designtech

Question
I drive a 2000 Honda Civic Si with shaved door handles and a shaved trunk lock.

I have a problem with a Viper 850XV system: Each of the buttons on the remote fobs work, however
no button commands result in any type of sound confirmation. I tried to engage the panic button on
the remote, but only the lights flash (no sound is emitted from the security system) what good is a
silent alarm system?

How do I disengage the Silent Mode for this system?
