Car Alarms: Alarm will not sound, only sounds to remind me its unlocked (3 beeps), 3 beeps, responce

Question
I have a Prestige system in my '99 prelude.  last weekend the lock/unlock/alarm will not sound.  It only flashes my hazards.  It will only sound after i shut the door to leave it unlocked.  I tried to push the valet button under the dash, but still doesn't work.  Audiovox is the brand.  Would you know whats going on?

p.s. the alarm was installed by the previous owner, and i dont have any manuals.

Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

KEY ON JUST BEFORE CRANKING ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.
KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.
