QuestionI HAVE A 4 YR OLD MARKSMAN ALARM. OCCASIONALLY WHILE DRIVING,DR MY '90 CHEVY PICKUP WILL STALL AND WILL NOT RESTART UNTIL I SET AND UNSET THE ALARM WITH THE REMOTE. I'VE CHECKED EVERYTHING MECHANICALLY. WOULD THIS INDICATE A WIRING PROBLEM OR A BAD CONTROL UNIT?
AnswerA car alarm would not make the engine stall when driving.
That's not something they are capable of.
It's dangerous.
I'd keep looking at the charging system for a frayed
or, loose ground strap/wire maybe?
I don't think it's the alarm.
You could check all connections, but the "stalling"
while driving part, leads me away from that conclusion.
Please check all veriables here.
