Car Alarms: Camry alarm Issue, representitive, car alarm

Hello,
I have a 98 LE camry and it has KARR car alarm. It does not work most of the time. If I kept on pressing my remote for half an hour, it works. What is your suggestion. I guess I will have to disable the alarm, what is the best way to do it.
