Car Alarms: Alarm trouble on chrysler cirrus, chrysler cirrus, dash board

Question
I had locked my keys in the car.  I used a slim Jim to enter the car.  When I lifted the handle the car alarm went off.  Lights flashing,horn blowing, a dot on the dash board flashing also.  When I go to start my car the the engine will shut off after about ten seconds.  I have tried getting out and locking the door and restarting but the same problem.  I had this happen before but someone was around to walk me through it.  I can not remember what part of the trick I am forgetting.
